5 minutes' sailing from Gidive Center Palamós and just a few metres from the Llosa de Palamós we will find the Boreas.
The Boreas is a ship 40 metres in length overall, which was sunk in 1989 in order to create a marine biotope in the waters of Palamós. Its original name was Pellworm and it was originally a deep-sea tug of the German navy that served during the Second World War.
During the war it passed into the hands of the American army, then returned to German hands and finally went into civilian use under a Panamanian flag, being seized by the authorities for drug trafficking in 1989 off the coast of Begur.
Once cleaned up and after the possible risk points for divers had been eliminated, it was sunk off the coast of Palamós.
We will begin the dive descending along the line located at the bow of the ship, at around 22 metres.
When we reach the end of the line we will head directly to see the propeller located at 32 metres depth.
From here, we will ascend to the stern deck where we will begin to visit the various enclosed spaces, starting with the hold, where we will find an air chamber.
We will continue through the engine room, passing through the kitchen and ending in the captain's cabin, where we can observe the bathtub.
There are other rooms that are more difficult to access and of little interest to the diver.
To finish, we will tour the entire deck of the ship, looking for a conger eel hidden in some of the countless corners offered by the Boreas.
