Half a mile to the north of the cape of Begur lies one of the most impressive underwater rock formations on the Mediterranean coastline. Its characteristics make it a unique geographical feature along the entire coast. It is an enormous submerged massif, beginning at 14 metres depth and extending beyond 55 metres at its base. The mooring buoy is fixed at the summit of the furió itself.
The main attraction of this dive, if carried out on the north wall, is the sight of immense gorgonians and coral formations of incredible colour. The encrusting invertebrates are very numerous. We will also find a large number of octopuses, local scorpionfish, groupers, rays and other pelagic species depending on the time of year. It is not unusual during the ascent to discover schools of barracudas searching for food and occasionally a pair of sunfish. Another alternative is to dive on the southwest face, where the descent is more gradual and where we will also find a large amount of benthic life that will captivate us immediately. Virtually all species of vertebrates and invertebrates typical of the Mediterranean can be found here.
