On the Instructor Assistant course you will learn and practise teaching techniques and instructional methods focused on teaching diving. These techniques will be of great help for delivering PADI diving courses.
The Instructor Assistant course will prepare you to sit a future IDC (Instructor Development Course).

How is the course carried out?

PADI Assistant Instructor Course

The course is divided into two modules (theoretical and practical), both of which can progress simultaneously.

  • Theory part: In the theory part, all the pedagogical aspects focused on delivering lessons to future students in a clear and direct manner are covered. Once certified as an Instructor Assistant, you will be able to teach Peak Performance Buoyancy, Discover Scuba Diver and various diving specialty courses.
  • Practical part: In the practical part, exercises are carried out in open water and confined water, learning to perform them to demonstration level.

Course requirements

  • Minimum age: 18 years
  • Be certified as a PADI Divemaster.
  • Have completed a PADI EFR First Aid course within the last 24 months.
  • To start the course: 60 logged dives in the dive log.
  • Hold an official medical certificate no older than 2 years.
  • Hold diving insurance (if you do not have one, we can arrange it).

What does the course include?

  • Duration: 3-4 days
  • Dives and air fills during the course.
  • Assistance from a certified IDC Staff Instructor during lessons and practical sessions.
  • The price does NOT include the certification processing fees which must be paid directly to PADI, nor the necessary teaching materials.
