DPVs, also called underwater scooters, allow you to reach more distant areas, save air and get from one place to another faster and in a fun way.


DPV diving is one of the most enjoyable activities you can do underwater. During the PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle course, you will be surprised at how much you can see with a tank of air. Your instructor will show you different manoeuvres and answer any questions you have.

Learn about different types of underwater scooters, their care and maintenance and how to use a DPV when diving with a buddy. If you are thinking of buying a DPV, this course is an excellent starting point.

How is the course carried out?

PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle DPV Course
In addition to learning the many advantages of diving with a Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV), during two open water dives:
  • You will practise DPV manoeuvres and learn how to ride in tandem.
  • You will learn how to avoid problems such as ascending/descending too quickly, entanglement with the motor and losing track of your buddy.
  • You will manage battery and gas autonomy to dive safely and return to the agreed point.

Requirements

  • Hold the Open Water Diver or Junior Open Water Diver certification.
  • Minimum age 12 years.
  • Hold an official medical certificate no older than 2 years.
  • Hold diving insurance (if you do not have one, we can arrange it).

What does the course include?

  • Duration: 1-2 days
  • Number of dives: 2 open water dives
  • Use of the Diver Propulsion Vehicle during the course (DPV).
  • Assistance at all times from a certified instructor.
  • PADI Diver Propulsion Vehicle (DPV) certification.
