On the EFR Instructor course you will learn to teach EFR Emergency First Response first aid courses following the PADI philosophy.
Once certified as an EFR instructor you will be able to teach Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR), Secondary Care (First Aid), CPR & AED and Care for Children courses.

CPR and first aid techniques are important techniques for everyone, not just divers. As an Emergency First Response Instructor, you will teach techniques based on internationally recognised emergency care guidelines and will be able to offer courses to anyone.

Your role as an EFR Instructor is to be a trainer who knows how to create a positive learning environment and is able to:

  • Foster self-discovery in students.
  • Evaluate students' understanding and mastery of techniques during practical sessions.
  • Manage effective scenario-based learning experiences.

How is the course carried out?

PADI EFR Instructor Course

The course is structured around a theory part where you will complete the knowledge reviews and take the final exam independently.

A practical part in which you will learn how to structure, organise and promote EFR courses. You must:

  • Participate in the eight mandatory presentations of the Emergency First Response Instructor course.
  • Teach at least two primary or secondary care skills from the Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR), Secondary Care (First Aid) or CPR & AED courses.
  • Teach at least one skill from the Care for Children course.
  • Perform the demonstration technique as a role model for all 15 course skills.

Course requirements

  • Minimum age: 18 years
  • Have completed an EFR Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care (CPR and First Aid) course within the last 24 months.

What does the course include?

  • Duration: 1 and a half days
  • EFR Instructor theoretical materials.
  • Assistance from an EFR Instructor Trainer during practical sessions.
  • Use of specific materials such as adult manikin, child manikin, AED simulator, barriers, etc.
  • The certification processing fees which must be paid directly to PADI are NOT included in the price.
