How does the course work?

The PADI Freediver course consists of three main phases:

  • Knowledge development on the fundamentals of freediving theory — physiology, technique, safety and equipment.
  • Confined water sessions to practise breath-hold, relaxation and basic freediving skills.
  • Open water dives to apply all the skills in the sea and achieve the certification requirements.
Approximate schedule for the first day of the course:
  • 9:00 to 10:30 theory review
  • 11:00 to 13:00 confined water session
  • 15:00 to 17:00 first open water dive
Approximate schedule for day 2 of the course:
  • 9:00 to 10:00 stretching
  • 10:00 to 12:30 open water session
  • 12:30 to 14:00 lunch break
  • 15:00 to 17:00 second open water session

Course requirements

  • Minimum age 15 years.
  • Be able to swim 200 metres non-stop.
  • Be in good health. Complete the medical form.
