During the Dive Against Debris Specialty course you will learn to participate in the cleaning of the ocean and your local dive sites and will contribute to a global database that documents the problem of marine debris on our planet.

How is the course carried out?

PADI Dive Against Debris Course

Take this course if you want to:

  • Become a citizen-scientist for marine conservation.
  • Learn how you can really make a difference for our oceans.
  • Keep your local dive sites clean of plastics and debris.

On this course you will learn to:

  • Identify which objects should and should not be removed from the ocean.
  • Lead a survey: Sort, record and report the marine debris you collect.
  • Contribute to the PADI AWARE Foundation global database.

Course requirements

  • Be 10 years of age.
  • Hold the PADI Open Water Diver, Junior Open Water Diver, PADI Freediver, PADI Advanced Mermaid (or equivalent certification).
