With the PADI Tec 40 course you make the transition from recreational to technical diving. It is a natural progression from Tec Basics, or it can be your first technical diving course. It is the bridge between no-stop diving and technical diving with decompression. You will gain experience and begin to develop the knowledge and skills you need to continue your technical diver training.
You will be able to carry out decompression dives limited to 40 metres and use up to 50 per cent oxygen as a decompression gas.
With the Tec 40 Trimix integration, you will be able to use trimix with no less than 21 per cent oxygen and no more than 35 per cent helium.
You can use your usual recreational diving equipment with a few minor variations to begin familiarising yourself with technical diving conditions, or start straightaway with the full technical diving configuration.
You will dive on air or EANx, including up to 50 per cent enriched air for decompression. If you are taking the Tec 40 Trimix Diver course you will also use trimix.
Are you curious about the benefits of using Trimix gas, such as decreased gas density and reduced narcosis? Tec 40 divers can also learn to use trimix with no less than 21 per cent oxygen and no more than 35 per cent helium.
